Cheap fix for your stand mixer

My wife over-taxed our stand mixer. A little online research revealed that the gear was probably stripped. Using a screwdriver, I was able to get to the gear and confirmed this. For $15 and an hour of my time, I was able to easily replace the gear and get the stand mixer working again. Most people pay $100-$150 to have a repairman do it.

mixer saving gear

I call it a mixer saving gear because that's what it does. It's a little bit of work to swap out the old one for the new one. That being said I did it with a screw driver a pliers and a bunch of paper towels. On my coffee table..... Part ordered through Amazon. Painless quick transaction . No worries. Mixer today is still making bread!

Just what I needed.

Cheap fix for an expensive mixer. Found an online tutorial that walked me right through the replacement. Mixer is working perfectly again.
