Works for a quick, inexpensive fix to an uncooperative ring

The ring on our 4.5 quart mixer (KSM90 series ) just popped out one day during some heavy holiday use. I was unable to get the old ring back on after trying several times- including trying to crimp it a bit to get a more snug fit. Two men wrestling it to the ground ...and we could still not make it stick.
This replacement ring snapped right on with little effort and is holding thus far after a few uses. I recommend it for a quick/cheap fix, rather than taking into a repair shop or replacing the unit - which will cost you a lot more.
I read on the Kitchenaid web site that the ring requires a professional machine fit. However, there are a number of good tutorials on the web on how to repair these mixers (including full schematics and parts etc) and all speak of just snapping this cosmetic ring back on (without machine). While I can't guarantee the ring will stay on forever, this $5 fix works in the short term for me.
