I ordered this just to be safe when I replaced the worm gear in my stand mixer.

Fits the hobart/kitchen aid K5-A

When I went to replace the worm gear I discovered the gasket was broken. It seems to be doing its job of keeping the grease inside and flour out. My mixer is over 50 years old and I doubt I will have to change this part ever again.
