Inferior metal in a crucial part

I ordered this part just as I had ordered other parts from third party merchants other than Kitchenaid. Upon receiving it I noticed that it was not the same color as the one that originally came on the mixer nor the one that was pictured. I pressed on, figuring it was just a minor difference. Boy was I wrong.
After installing the product, I thoroughly cleaned out all the shavings from the previously sheared gear, put in plenty of new grease, and closed up the mixer. Running it with no load went well, but 30 seconds into mixing a 3 cup dough on speed 2 the mixer quit spinning. I opened it back up and found that 3 teeth had sheared completely off the new gear and more were loose.
Long story short, this is an inferior product being passed off and I am contacting the seller I bought it from immediately to request a refund.

Poor material quality

I purchased and installed the KitchenAid 9703337 Gear in December 2010 for my wife's KitchenAid KP26M1XNP Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer, Nickel Pearl to replace the original gear that had stripped after three years of heavy use. The old gear stripped when we foolishly tried to grind some partially-frozen meat with the meat grinder attachment, which puts quite a strain on this gear.
This new gear fit fine and initially worked well, but the metal is apparently weaker than the original part. After about four months of light use (especially no grinding of frozen meat!), the mixer quit working. This replacement part has the following failures:
1. On the bottom side, the two flat surfaces that allow it to mate with the gear below it are both warped, with uneven, rough edges. The metal has obviously deformed. This is the failure that actually caused the mixer to stop working, because it can no longer mate with the piece underneath.
2. On the top side, four of the teeth have cracks at their upper and lower ends, and the teeth are visibly warped slightly to the left. Even the teeth that don't have visible cracks are slightly warped.

Quality gear and works great, fits Kitchenaid Professional 600 exactly like original gear. Solid construction and low cost. Quiet operation after replacing this gear due to heavy wear.
