5Top Rate Blender
By Texas Net Surfer
We were looking for a blender that would make smoothies on a daily basis, last longer than 90-days and not cost us a fortune. This blender easily crushes the ice and blends the frozen fruits into a delicious smoothie without problem. It does not over heat or stall and the 4-level blade prevents air pockets common with other blenders. It is somewhat loud but that is to be expected from a motor powerful enough to easily crush ice in seconds. We recommend this blender to anyone looking for quality at a reasonable price.

5No complain!!
By JS
Before I bought this I checked many reviews. I chose the glass jar over polycarbonate one that would be nice, if there in no leaking possibility.
Cleaning and assembling are easier than other brand that I owned before since it is built well.
Primary purpose of this is making smoothy and ice crush. This is doing better than I expected. Especially, for ice crushing, it does crush and pulse and it is very effective. I recommend it with 5 star.

1This is the Worst Designed Product I have Ever Seen
By Andy
The first thing I noticed was that the "soft start" feature was an absolute joke. If I so much as tap the lowest speed button (stir) the blender would blast my protein shakes to the lid with such force that it would actually leak past the lid. Even with the lid I had a mess to clean up after each use. What made things even worse was that the outside of the pitcher does not seal to the base of the pitcher. Liquids that run down the outside of the pitcher would get all over the bottom side of the pitcher base (a hard to clean area) and the motor base. The splash up issue could in theory be solved by putting an inductor on the input, but why should I have to do this? KitchenAid should have figured this out.

There are two fatal design flaws with this blender that been described with varying degrees of success by other reviewers here.

The gear that is attached to the blades is made from rubber molded over a metal disk. Not a knurled disk, a smooth disk. This means that there is no mechanical lock between the rubber and the disk. At some point the rubber will shear off from the metal disk and the motor will no longer be able to spin the blades. Had KitchenAid paid attention to the design that metal disk would have ridges or not be round (e.g. polygon)

The base of the pitcher itself does not have a feature to lock it to the motor base like other blenders do. Instead KitchenAid came up with an overly complex separate locking piece which is a flimsy plastic ring with a number of joints. This will also break at some point. If you are careful with locking the pitcher to the motor base, the gear will break first.

Do not buy this blender. Even if it works for a little while, it will break soon enough. The design is just that bad. KitchenAid, I am so mad at you that I have decided not to buy your stand mixer. If you can not get a blender right, I am sure the stand mixer is no better.
